Ad Valorem Taxation Of Motor Vehicles

The State Revenue Commissioner of the Georgia Department of Revenue is charged by law with the annual valuation of the motor vehicles subject to taxation in this state. The Motor Vehicle Ad Valorem Assessment Manual is prepared annually by the Georgia Department of Revenue and contains the official assessments and the assessment procedures that are used county tax commissioners.

The 2008 Motor Vehicle Millage Rate Manual contains the same property tax rates that were applied to real and personal property in 2007. These rates are entered by county tax officials into a database maintained by the Motor Vehicle Division.
